TOURNAMENT RULES

• The Tournament shall be played under the FIDE Laws of Chess.
• System of Play: Swiss System with FIDE rules.
• No. of Rounds : 7
• Time Control : 30 Minutes With 15 Sec. increment per move from move no. 1
• Default Time : 30 minutes
• No mobile phone/ electronic gadgets/ watches allowed inside the tournament hall even in switch off mode, if found, his/her game will be treated as lost.
• Tie-break: (a) Buchholz cut1 (b) Buchholz (c) Sonneborn Berger (d) Direct Encounter (e) greater no. of wins (Including forfeit)
• Every move must be completed by one hand only, otherwise it will be treated as an illegal move. If clock is pressed without making move will also be treated as an illegal move.
• Player who absent during a round without notification to the arbiter will be considered to have withdrawn themselves.
• Protest: Protest of any nature in connection with the tournament shall be in writing and must reach the Organizing Secretary within half an hour from the occurrence of the incident, duly accompanied by a fee of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred).
• In case of any dispute, Chief Arbiter’s decision is final and binding to all.
• No protest about over age of a player will be entertained after 2nd round of the tournament.
• No request towards waiver of entry fee will be entertained.
• The Organizers have the right to reject any entry without assigning any reason thereof.
